I worked at the Bloomington Schooner's when I was in college 27 years ago. Incredible food and a great place to work!

Nice little place, the decor is cool and the interior(ceiling and walls) are rustic. Cold beer, nice bartender, and friendly locals.

A Peoria classic!! My wife's and my fave place to eat out at! Never had a bad meal or bad service! I always get the onion rings (of course!!!) plus whatever else Stokes my fancy. Its all good here !! Plus the atmosphere is low key and never pretentious. I hate those places that if your a newbie they look at you and try to figure you out,and see if you are good enough to frequent their establishment.(any where on prospect in the heights) I LOVE SCHOONERS !!

Caution: I may not be the best resource for this, because I basically only order the same thing over and over. Having said that, Schooners has the BEST garlic "wild" wings! I love garlic and I love hot, and I can't even do their hottest wing option (which I find is impressive). Side note: they are never stingy on the garlic. Light draft beer in one of their frosty goblets is the perfect pair with the spicy wings. Staff is always very friendly and I love the environment. Thanks for the late night recovery food Schooners!

This is a fun pub type restaurant. Service was excellent. We started with the fried corn fritters and they were really good. We both had burgers with what seemed to be the worlds largest onion rings. All the food was good, although a bit greasier than we would have liked. Nice place for a simple, easy meal, but definitely not a fine dining experience.

The tenderloin is a typical local food and the approach is innovative: give someone a 18 oz (estimated) size, which is truly enough for 4 or more. let the customer choose the number of buns (we chose 4), and go to. at abut $10 it's not cheap, but on the other hand, you are not buying 1 but 5 sandwiches. The chicken was far less interesting. Some seem to like it, but it seemed neither novel or good to me. The atmosphere is good to great, and it's next door/connected by a walk way and probably financially to a diner next door, where they serve a junior version of the tenderloin. well worth visiting in Peoria. Their beer mats suggest that there is also one in Bloomington.

The tenderloin may be what people talk about but their hot wings are first rate. These are the best wings in Peoria and probably Central Illinois. I loved the atmosphere because it has the look and feel of an old tavern. Nothing fancy here, just good food at fair prices.

Tenderloins and chicken strips are awesome. They don't take cc but have an ATM. Great people as well.

Huge food. Cheap beer. The tenderloin pizza is awesome!

You cant be a local Peorian and not know about this place. During the summer and fall, its the place to go following a softball or football game and even on a deadly cold day in the winter, like today, it hits the spot when you need a good ol' serving of grease. I went in with my wife and folks for a pork tenderloin and boy does it hit the spot. The tenderloin is served either with 1 bun or 2, and really, you could make 6 sandwiches out of one order. There is plenty of meat on these things, not just some thin loin breaded and fried...We also got some onion rings, which while a bit greasy, are the homemade type that makes you want to eat the little cracklins they leave behind. Everyone was able to get a beer and stuff our faces, for about 40 bucks...so great value and good food!

Big food, big beer, and big people--it really is a local landmark, the type of place where the waitress calls you honey. I had the pork tenderloin and a basket of onion rings which was enough for about 5 people. Everything was deep fried to perfection. The atmosphere is half bar half restaurant and all Peoria. Surprisingly, not a lot of options for the vegetarian.

One of our favorites! We have gone here for the wings for 10 years and they always satisfy. Several choices of heat for the wings. They are very lightly breaded so they are not sloppy, which we like. And the beer garden is great!

Great neighborhood restaurant and Peoria landmark. Gebby's beer-battered chicken and huge tenderloin are not to be missed along with a schooner of beer and a basket of onion rings. Fantastic!

Friendly service, wonderful atmosphere, ... and the best catfish I've ever eaten.
